We have been packing our schedule with visits and sights in order to do everything we want to do and still make it north to Maine before the freeze hits. There is a big hike up there that I have wanted to do for years, and when I agreed to come live in a van with John, it was with the understanding that we would make it north for the top two hikes in New England on my list. I really appreciate that John has made an effort to play our trip at double-time, but we have been moving so fast that we’ve hardly had time to relax. So when we left his cousin Andrea’s house for an afternoon visit to their local mountain at Paris Mountain State Park, we decided to stay there for the night before making our way to North Carolina. I also convinced him that we should spend a couple days exploring some of the natural wonders that NC has to offer, and not rush straight on through to his uncle’s place in Virginia.

I love the bird house version of the visitors center at Paris Mountain State Park.

Bird pose! We actually call this "Superwoman", which we have been working on almost since we started dating. We only learned that it is an acro-yoga pose called bird after months of practicing our Superwoman. We plan collect a shot from each state we visit, and we'll make a page of them when we have a good set.

  1. Cool idea with these photographs. Thank God you didn’t take a gnome with you to do this sort of thing.
